In the 2023 Chicago Ducky Derby, numerous rubber ducks gracefully traversed the Chicago River in a spirited competition to reach the finish line. This traditional event enables the general public to engage by sponsoring rubber ducks, with the resulting proceeds being directed towards supporting the Special Olympics.

The funds generated from this sponsorship endeavor have a profound purpose – to contribute to the Special Olympics' mission of offering a comprehensive array of year-round opportunities. These encompass competitive sports, health education, leadership, and personal development, all tailored to benefit over 21,000 children and adults grappling with intellectual disabilities throughout the state. The intention is articulated in a press release.

An individual of note within the Special Olympics Illinois community, Josh, who boasts an impressive track record comprising gold and bronze medals in gymnastics, assumed the esteemed role of the 2023 Duck Ambassador, adding an extra layer of significance and inspiration to this remarkable event.
